Hello friends, and welcome back to my site, The Press Voice. As you know, facials are one of the most popular beauty treatments, used to cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate the skin.
Modern facial therapies not only improve the skin's texture and appearance but also help treat common skin concerns such as acne, dullness, wrinkles, pigmentation, and clogged pores, etc.
For precisely this reason, today we will discuss some of these advanced facial gadgets and their benefits.
So, without further ado, let's get started!
Advanced Facial Gadgets and Their Benefits
The following are the advanced facial gadgets and their benefits:
High Frequency
The device used for this procedure stimulates the skin with the aid of a mild electric current. This current helps to tone the skin while simultaneously rejuvenating and oxygenating it.
High-Frequency Facial Procedure
Like most facials, a high-frequency facial follows the same steps.
Cleanup
Cleanse your skin of makeup, blackheads, and whiteheads before proceeding to remove them and then get rid of any dead skin.
This step helps cleanse your skin of all impurities at the surface level and remove any dirt trapped in your pores.
High-frequency device
The facial device is equipped with electrodes and is used on your face for about 10-15 minutes. Depending on the severity of the problem, the device is focused on problem areas.
This step helps eliminate acne-causing bacteria, tone, and firm your face while improving lymphatic drainage.
Mask
Depending on your skin type and concerns, masks are applied to your skin. This can be a sheet mask, left on for 15-20 minutes and further helps get rid of blemishes and acne.
Hydrate and SPF
A good facial always includes a quick facial massage using a serum or face massage cream. If the facial is done during the day, never let your client go out without sunscreen.
Galvanic
Galvanization is an electrical current applied to the skin through conductive gel. It works on the principle of like charges repelling each other.
When used in combination with specially charged gels, galvanic facial machines smooth skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, clarify skin tone, and give skin a lift.
Galvanic facial Procedure
The following are the galvanic procedure step by step:
- Apply an acidic solution to the skin. This is done to open skin pores, soften tissues, and increase blood circulation. The acidic solution breaks down oil trapped in pores, cleans follicles, and flushes out skin impurities.
- Apply an anacycline solution to the skin. This step closes pores and reduces blood circulation in the area. It also calms nerves.
- Use galvanic positive probes to improve the penetration of skin care products. This step is also called 'iontophoresis.'
- Turn the unit off by pressing the power button. Remove any gel residue with a damp towel. Apply any additional skin care products, such as serum, moisturizer, or sunscreen, at this time.
Note: Ask your client to maintain contact with the device at all times during the treatment to ensure consistent current. If the gel dries out during the treatment, apply a little water to the skin to keep the unit running smoothly.
Infrared Lamp
Red light therapy is 100% natural, chemical-free, and drug-free. Unlike chemical solutions or toners you apply to your skin, the natural red light used in LED lamps penetrates the skin to activate cellular activity.
Red light therapy penetrates various layers of the skin to stimulate cellular activity and increase blood supply to the skin's surface. Increased blood flow to the area means more nutrients and oxygen nourish the skin cells.
This also stimulates collagen production, which aids in the improvement and prevention of various skin problems.
Using red light therapy results in healthy, glowing skin and helps smooth the skin. It also helps repair sun damage acquired through years of neglect.
Faradic Machine
Faradic treatment is applied to the face to stimulate muscle contractions, resulting in a tightening and toning effect.
The treatment is applied with the help of official electrodes made of electrically conductive carbon-impregnated plastic. The treatment can be applied through three different types of electrodes:
a. A handheld facial electrode.
b. Facial mask electrode.
c. CD diselectrode.
Vapor zone
Many people consider the facial steamer to be the most important tool in the business.
The following are the benefits of using a steamer/vapozone:
- Softens skin cells so they can be more easily removed during exfoliation or massage.
- Open pores and hair follicles for deep cleansing.
- Stimulates circulation.
- Softens sebum and other debris, such as dirt and makeup.
- Helps eliminate toxins.
- Steam relaxes skin and tissues, making extraction easier.
- Helps oxygenate the skin due to increased circulation.
- Temporarily softens lines and wrinkles
Steam Time for Various Skin Types
- Normal Skin 8-10 minutes
- Oily Skin 12-15 minutes
- Sensitive/Dry Skin 3-5 minutes
Ultrasonic
This treatment exfoliates dead skin cells to even out skin tone. It stimulates circulation and smooths the skin. Recommended for thicker skin. It is advisable not to use this treatment for sensitive skin.
Ultrasonic facial Procedure
The following are the ultrasonic facial procedure step by step:
- Apply a water solution to the skin to loosen dead skin cells on the surface.
- Using an ultrasonically activated spatula, remove dry skin cells from the skin.
- During this process, the aqueous solution penetrates deep into the skin and hydrates the new cells.
Brushing Unit
The rotary brush unit is used to remove dead skin cells and to cleanse the skin of dirt, oil, and accumulated impurities.
The rotating brushes also provide a pleasant massage for your client. The purpose of brushing is to remove dead cells.
Precautions during facials
1. For excessive blackheads, steaming is necessary to soften the skin.Use a blackhead remover to remove blackheads.
2. Sanitize the tool first and apply astringent to the area before and after removing the blackheads.
3. Use tissue paper when removing blackheads. Use ice cubes immediately after removing blackheads to close the pores. Preferably, use distilled water in the steamer.
4. Use clean towels and linens for each client.
Check the temperature so it doesn't cause any discomfort to the client.
5. Steam for no more than 2 to 3 minutes and check the temperature in between.
6. Wash hands before and after the treatment. Check that the client does not have any infectious conditions.
7. Use a spatula to remove products from the jar. Replace the caps on bottles and jars immediately after use to avoid contamination.
8. Sterilize all equipment before use. Continuously check the client's skin reaction during the treatment.
9. Keep the steam outlet away from the client and any other equipment/materials while the water is hot.
10. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding preparation, application, and removal.
11. Aim the steam outlet away from the client before turning off the machine and move it to a safe place immediately after the treatment.
12. It is important to ensure that the mask has set before removing it. Once the mask is applied, apply a soothing eye pad.
13. Remove the mask with a moist, warm sponge or cotton pad using an upward motion.
14. Repeat until all traces of the mask are removed, and finally, apply a light application of toner before proceeding to the final step of the facial.
When Not to Perform a Facial
Before learning everything there is to know about the face, the very first and most crucial step is to analyze the client's skin type and condition.
While the basic structural composition of skin is universal, the physiological functioning of each individual's skin varies—a distinction that determines their specific skin type.
Knowledge and understanding of a client's skin type and condition are essential for selecting the appropriate products.
There are three primary methods for identifying skin type and condition:
- Initial Observation (by asking the client specific questions).
- Visual Analysis (by visually examining the client's skin).
- Tactile Analysis (by touching and feeling the client's skin).
If, under any circumstances, you observe or feel something unusual about the client's skin, advise them to seek professional medical consultation and refrain from performing the facial.
